We are so excited to share the latest news with you from Esteamed Coffee®! Spring is in full swing at the cafe, and it’s already been a season of celebration, connection, and momentum for our community. From honoring our incredible volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation Week and filling our Hall of Gratitude with your thoughtful notes to being named Best Coffee House by Cary Magazine - for the fifth year in a row - we continue to be humbled by your support.
In this issue, you’ll find exciting updates, including information on how to get tickets for our upcoming gala, a look at what’s ahead in May, and a special mission moment from Spring Daze that highlights the impact of inclusive employment in action.
Tickets are now on sale for Brewing Opportunities 2026: A Wonderland of Possibilities! Brewing Opportunities is more than a gala - it is a joyful celebration of our staff, volunteers, and community, as well as a biennial fundraising event that generates critical support for our nonprofit’s mission and long-term sustainability. This year, we are excited to bring you a wide variety of ways to support Esteamed Coffee, from fun raffles to a silent and live auction - not to mention delicious food and drink from local favorites. Our last event in 2024 sold out, so be sure to get your tickets while they last!
Brewing Opportunities 2026: A Wonderland of Possibilities will highlight the many ways Esteamed Coffee opens doors of opportunity for individuals with disabilities through meaningful employment, skill-building, confidence, and community connection. With love, kindness, and a touch of whimsy, this unforgettable evening will bring our mission to life and showcase the real impact of inclusive employment.
We are so excited to announce that Esteamed Coffee has won the 2026 Maggy Award for "Best Coffee House" from Cary Magazine! Voted on by community members throughout the area, these awards highlight the best in business in western Wake County.
Did you know that this is Esteamed Coffee's fifth Maggy Award in a row? These awards are a testament not just to the amazing support of our community, but also to the incredible abilities of our team. We are so grateful to everyone who voted for Esteamed Coffee and who puts their trust in us every day. We are looking forward to our sixth award in 2027!
At this year’s Spring Daze festival, our team was proud to be part of the Community Cove, where connection and creativity were in full bloom. Alongside two of our dedicated volunteers, we hosted a hands-on activity inviting festivalgoers to decorate pastry bags with fun messages and inspirational quotes.
Throughout the day, visitors stopped by not only to create something meaningful, but also to meet the people at the heart of our mission. Our volunteers, adults with disabilities who are currently training for roles in our cafe, engaged with guests, demonstrated their growing skills, and offered a glimpse of what’s possible when inclusive employment is prioritized.
Experiences like this are an important part of building confidence, developing job skills, and creating pathways to meaningful work. With your support, we can continue to provide training opportunities and real-world experiences that help make employment more accessible.
